Razorback Battalion Honors Distinguished Graduates at Second Annual Hall of Fame Dinner

Fayetteville, AR - March 12, 2024 - The University of Arkansas Army ROTC Alumni Society proudly announces the induction of three remarkable individuals into the esteemed Razorback Battalion Hall of Fame. The second annual Hall of Fame dinner, held March 8th at the Mount Sequoyah Event Center, celebrated the exceptional achievements and contributions of these distinguished alumni.

The purpose of the Society is to recognize outstanding program alums and provide unwavering support for the University’s Army ROTC department, cadets, and faculty. This year's inductees exemplify the values of service, leadership, and excellence that define the Razorback Battalion.

The 2024 Razorback Battalion Hall of Fame Inductees are:

Brigadier General (Retired) Sam Gibson, Class of 1968:

Brigadier General Gibson's distinguished 34-year military career in the United States Army Reserve culminated in exceptional leadership roles, including commanding various units during significant deployments. Beyond his military service, he has contributed significantly to the legal profession, representing diverse clients and serving his community in various capacities, including service on the Arkansas Supreme Court.

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Chuck Hemingway, Class of 1968:

Lieutenant Colonel Hemingway's illustrious career spans service around the globe, from his tenure in Military Intelligence to his impactful work advocating for homeless and disadvantaged veterans in his home state of Oregon. His dedication to serving others and his innovative approaches to addressing societal challenges have earned him widespread recognition and respect.

Brigadier General (Retired) Rick Rife, Class of 1979:

Brigadier General Rife's 29-year career in the U.S. Army showcased his exceptional leadership and commitment to excellence. From commanding units in combat zones to serving in key strategic roles, his contributions have left an indelible mark on the military landscape. Post-retirement, he continues to serve his community and support fellow veterans through mentoring and coaching initiatives.
